My Special Valentine

Hello Pretties!

Todays post is a special post and a blast from the past. I thought that I would introduce to you my husband Caden in honor of Valentines. Most of you know him and some of you have probably never heard about him. I hope you enjoy this post and I love sharing with you a sneak peak into our lives.

Our Love Story:

Caden and I met when we were little babies. I was 18 and he was 21. We were in the same church together but we never talked or anything. I knew of him and who he was but I was fresh from high school and was a little scared being there with older kids in what they called “The Singles Ward.”  Our church group was going on a fun history tour to Nauvoo and my sister and I decided to go and so did Caden. *Back Story: At this time Caden had a girlfriend and wasn’t really looking for anyone.* I saw him on the bus and he sat behind me and I just briefly noticed him there. I even remember one of the guys standing up and saying “Caden you can’t have a girlfriend because all the girls here are going to leave because you are so cool” I sat there and thought “oh dang he isn’t single?? He is so cute!”

The trip went on and we ran into each other here and there but nothing went on. It wasn’t till we were standing in line for the airport that he FINALLY talked to me. I was a little bit shy so he mainly talked to my sister, and I started asking him some questions and we talked a little bit. He then learned I was 18 and a little bit young so he wasn’t super interested. We then got home and I kept noticing him every week and I would go up to him and do that casual fist bump/ touch his arm. Then one week in church he sang… I was so giddy and like I don’t know what came over me but while he was singing I was so nervous like he was just singing to me, and I couldn’t look at him it was so sweet. I purposely told myself that I was going to make it my mission to go say “Good Job” and touch his arm. I made my move and told him and touched his right arm. Then that night would you believe that waiting for me on the computer was a “Friend Request” from this mysterious man!! Also not only a request but a message. But it read this:

Dear Candice:

We’re officially friends now. Please: tell me more about you so I can know who this Candice girl is.

Sincerely,

Caden.

So after I read this I called my best friends and died. I was so nervous.

We then wrote on facebook for quite awhile and talked every day.  I was out at an activity when we finally got the nerve to sit by each other. Then the girl that was teaching said “okay I want everyone to get up and sit by the person you aren’t sitting by so we can meet new people” I thought are you kidding me?? I finally get the guts to sit by him and I have to move?? I pretended to get up and sat back down so I could stay by him. We had so much fun together but I had to take a neighbor home so I said “okay well bye.” I thought it was crazy he didn’t ask if I wanted to go out and was bummed so I drove home. While I was driving I got a call and it was Caden. He asked if I wanted to go get Ice cream, and I told him that I loved the ice cream from “The Mini Mart” gas station and I would meet him there. It was so funny because the guy that I was taking home in my car said “Well if he was a real man he would take you to Farrs.” I was laughing and said I was just fine with gas station ice cream. Our first date was gas station ice cream in his car and we talked for 3 hours straight. That’s how I knew Caden was the one, because we could talk for so long. It was so easy. On one date we went fishing and it was pouring rain and I remember hugging him because it was so cold and we fit together so easy.

I’m so glad it’s so easy being with you. As Brad Paisley would say, at the time I thought I loved you then, but now you are my whole world!

xoxo pretties. Happy Valentines day.

ps. You know he is a true keeper when he has been with you through all your hair color phases. *wink *wink
